Photographing Color, Street,
and Black Beauty
My photography is rooted in how I was raised to see beauty—in stretch marks, bold colors, and the complexity of real life. As a kid, my mother filled our walls with collages of Black models torn from magazines, pointing out tiger stripes and soft bellies as beautiful. That spirit fuels how I shoot today.
The vibrancy of color, the elegance of form, and the honesty of everyday moments are throughlines in my work. My graphic design eye brings balance and intentionality to every frame—whether it’s street photography with my husband, a vibrant portrait mid-movement, or soft light catching the curl of a silhouette.
Each photograph here represents one of the three styles I return to again and again:
• Color
• Street
• Black Female Portraiture
