Synergism: Ekaterina and Victor Khromin

Museum of Contemporary Art North Miami

For this deeply textured and visually rich exhibition, I created the full visual identity and graphic design elements including the exhibition logo, wall text, gallery guide, and promotional materials. The title treatment merges English and Russian typography, echoing the dual legacy of the artists and their shared roots in the Russian avant-garde.  I balanced the sculptural weight of the artworks with sleek, modern typography and a grounded burgundy palette to match the physicality and warmth of the work.

The exhibition, Synergism, merges sculpture and painting in layered compositions that explore time, memory, and emotion. Following Victor’s passing, Ekaterina developed a new body of work that expanded on their shared practice, producing monumental canvases that hold both grief and transformation. The design language honors this continuity—pairing symmetry and minimalism with moments of raw texture, much like the works themselves.

Curated by Maria Zavilova, the show highlighted more than two decades of collaboration and reinvention, culminating in a poignant tribute to legacy and reinvention through material.
